Autobiography
I, Jacob Steele, was born on June 2nd, 1988 in Fremont, Ohio, USA. I was raised in Port Clinton, Ohio for the better half of my youth. My mother and father divorced when I was eight years old, and my mother remarried; they proceeded to move to California. My father remarried Satan incarnate; they stayed in Ohio, and are also now divorced. I lived with my father and wife in Catawba, Ohio until moving to live with my mother and stepfather for about eight months. I moved back to Ohio and finished sixth grade, middle school, and the first year and a half of High School at Port Clinton High School before moving back to my mother's in California. I finished my Sophomore year at Encinal High School in Alameda, California before my stepfather received a transfer, landing us in Glen Burnie, Maryland. I attended High School there at North County High School for my Junior year, and half of my Senior year before, regretably, dropping out of High School.

I have been working since I was fourteen years old. When a Freshman in HS, I was in a Work Study program, much like many Seniors take. This program enabled me to work, essentially, wherever I pleased. My first job was at Wendy's Old Fashioned Hamburgers in Port Clinton. I worked there for two months before quitting, without a two-week notice, which resulted in me failing that quarter of the class. For the next quarter, I took a job at The Muffler Smiths, which was an automotive shop. The folks there were very friendly, and it was easy to bond with them. Whenever I'm in Ohio, I stop to see the guys, and I often bring them favors of their desire, which includes each his favorite bag of chips and a soda of his liking. I worked for The Muffler Smiths for eight months, until the program ended and I was no longer permitted to work in that environment. While I was there, I learned how to change oil, brakes, and all kinds of other good stuff that helps me do work myself to this day. During my entire Sophomore year, in both states, I was unemployed. When I moved to Maryland, I took a job for a vinyl replacement window company called Capital Investments Improvments as an estimate scheduler. I started on the phones; calling the homes of people and tempting them to set up estimates. When my phone productivity started to plummet, I was switched to canvasing, which involved me walking around neighborhoods actually speaking to the people, doing the same thing. I went along with this for about a month before I dedicated my entire shift to smoking cigarettes, among various other things; about a total of six months "working" for Capital. After that, I took a job at Quizno's, but was only there for about two months. After Quizno's was when my occupational history got juicy. I took up employment at Best Buy in the Media department. It was practically euphoria, but after only seven short months, I quit for no good reason. It was a couple weeks afterward that I dropped out of school.

Afterward, I was planning my move to Ohio, as I'd be turning 18 that June. I took a job at Walgreen's Drug Store doing whatever, usually cashier, and left that job after, again, about two months. There is a trend to be found... I remained unemployed until I moved to Ohio, where I took a job in the factory my father works at, Port Clinton Manufacturing. I worked there for about a month before I was stabbed in the back by a man who was, technically, my uncle; he is the father of my cousin Josh, the very same cousin who I allowed to move into my apartment with me less than two weeks later. After being fired from what was called "The Plant", I didn't work again throughout the duration of my time in Ohio. In all honesty, one might think I was devastated, as this had been the first job I'd ever been fired from. However, I lived on a peninsula, and was unable to reach any sort of job, as I had recently caught a drug charge, which results in mandatory loss of your driving privileges in the state of Ohio.

It was after five months living on my own that I had no choice but to move back in with my mother in Maryland. She was not thrilled, so she set a strict list of rules that helped me get my life back on track. I have gotten my GED, I am now drug-free for more than a year, and I've maintained semi-steady full-time employment. I'm working to better myself as an individual, and I am making necessary preparations for college. Upon returning, three days later, I was employed for K-Mart as a night stocker. This was my first leap into overnight stocking. I worked overnight for K-Mart for about a month and a half before they switched me to dayside receiving. I remained there for another month and a half before I gave in to the tempting of a coworker named Raymond who also worked at Lowes to apply there. I did so, and I was hired for full-time at a much better wage.I left K-Mart and worked at Lowes for five months as a night stocker before I was fired for a rack of nonsense. This was job 2 that I had been fired from, and I wasn't very thrilled. Within the month, I was employed at Target, also as a night stocker. Target has a section in the back room dedicated to the merchandise that won't fit in locations on the floor. We call those items "backstock", and after only two weeks of actually pushing the freight, I had decided to switch to back room and backstock all night long. I store merchandise in specialized locations in the backroom so that once one of those items is sold, the computer can tell if we've got it in-stock and we can quickly pull it and push it to the floor.

In March of 2008, I made another long-awaited move to Ohio, this time in with my father. When I first arrived, I had some trouble passing my driver's test because of the city I was taking my test in. Two consecutive weeks in a row I failed my test, and as a result, missed a couple days of work at Target. They weren't happy at all about that, and they made the decision to fire me. Instead of firing me for being absent (which I could've filed for unemployment), they made up a story that I threatened someone (so I couldn't file) knowing that under the guise of anonymity, I couldn't legitimately fight the claim.

After Target I got a job at a sports bar called Cleats. It was a really nice place, but the job sucked. I worked there for about two and a half months before my coked-up manager claimed I threw my hands in his face and flipped him the bird and fired me. Skipping the bullshit.

Immediately after, I applied at a grocery store right next to my home. They chose to hire me, and sent away from my background check. The check didn't come back in time for my first day, so I went to work, they worked me, and all worked out fine: until the next day. The results of my background check came back, and they were not pleased one bit. They fired me, too.

Now I work at a Holiday Inn Express on the front desk. I started here as a housekeeper, and when the tourists left town, they asked if I wanted to work the desk, so I agreed. I'm a paper chaser, what can I say?

Family
Before I was born, my father was married to a woman named Sue, with whom he birthed my brother, Danny. Danny currently resides in Marblehead, Ohio; the same peninsula on which I lived while I had my apartment. He is a computer wiz, and I do mean "wiz". He has many, many computers, and he loves building them for sake of intense gaming. He often throws LAN parties at his place. In the area? Contact me and we might invite you. Danny is currently in his mid-twenties, although I'm not exactly sure of what year.

Also before I was born, my mother was involved with a man with whom she birthed my sister, Angi. Angi has lived with my mother her whole life, and was adopted by my father when they became an item. Although our parents are divorced, my sister still carries my father's last name, and she'll carry it until the day she gets married. Angi recently turned 21, and has been living the crazy life ever since! Not really, of course, because she's a lightweight and doesn't drink often.

I have a whole medley of step- family. Currently, they're all via my stepfather since my real father has recently gotten divorced. I'm not going to list them because I'm not sure how they'd feel about being named on a website as blasphemous and vulgar as mine!

Origin of the Name
TreeWhen I moved back in with my mother for the second time, in California, midway through Sophomore year, my sister got me a pet gecko for Christmas. This gecko was a Leopard Gecko, which, by nature, are green and brown, muchlike a tree is. However, my sister saw an Albino Leopard Gecko and thought it was the cutest thing, so she got it for me. To be silly, she named her Tree, because my sister loves irony. And so it was. I loved my gecko, and I had her the entire time I lived in California, and she stayed with my mother and stepfather during the move to Maryland. And, the day before I started my first day of school in Maryland, she died. She had been refusing to eat her freeze-dried crickets, most likely because they were stale. She was just a baby, and only needed one cricket a day, so it is my guess that they went bad quickly. She is buried in the front lawn of my home in Glen Burnie.

My Body Is My Canvas
Tree KanjiBack TreeIn no time, I adopted the alias Tree for myself, for no real reason. It was catchy, and I liked the attention it gathered for me. I have been known as Tree now for nearly six years. It was been attached to every dealing of mine, both online, and in the world. It's even been vandalized all over Target and Lowes, out of boredome. Once I was living on my own, I decided I wanted to get a tattoo. For the longest time, I'd wanted Tree tattooed on my right forearm in Olde English letters. However, I was awakened to the fact that it'd be a bad first impression in a job interview, so I chose to get it on my back. Despite this completely rational decision, when it came time to get my second tattoo on my 20th birthday, I did end up going with right arm. My right arm acquired the kanji for "Tree". Then, out of the blue on a really good payday in December 08, I made the leap and got my last name, Steele, tattooed on my left arm. This was the first tattoo of mine to ever get infected. I have two more tattoos planned at this point: the Mitsubishi logo with a dragon perched on top of it for my left shoulder, and the silhouette of a gecko on the back of my right forearm with the tail wrapping around, just below the kanji.
